the controversial Lina JOy~~

Lina Joy Case

Remarks:
  • Is she kidding me?Even I live in Dublin never have the thought of changing my religion (although I'm not so religious, at least i pray & read ayat2 Quran).
  • How can the government let her changed religion in her IC(Identity Card)? Well, thank god it wasn't successful~
  • If she doesn't want to practice the Islam religion/culture,wanting to be like a western person, fine with me..but change to Christian? I don't get it! What the hell are you thinking?!!
Enough said. Off for lunch with miss choy & menon at aya~

pressure..pressure..

Firstly, my roommate kinda asked me to join her watch Datin Diaries. I'm not sure what's going on but erm..I'm aware that this show is showing in tv3 now. So, I assume it's a good drama series and will catch up right after the exams..

I've seen 1 of the episodes and I started to dislike very rich men who are very familiar with the word
'polygamy/affairs'. I mean..can't you just stick to a woman? Why do men have to misuse to term of polygamy? I wouldn't mind if you want to fool around when your status are 'single'..but not married okay, that's really a turn-off for me! I couldn't talk about it in depth as this is a sensitive issue. But overall, I can say that you don't need a filthy rich guy to make you happy. What woman need most from a man is loyal, happiness and financially stable. But NOT SUPER RICH, BOASTFUL & BUAYA GUY!!

As usually, many of my friends in Malaysia are getting married. Good for them but too pressure for me (if I'm in Malaysia). The 'pressure' of getting married at early age is not there, it's simply because I'm in the environment where no one(well, my close ones of course) are getting married soon. So,thank you I'm in Dublin.LOL! But I know 3 couples from my batch here are getting married this August. Congrats to all future newly weds :D

So, when's my turn? Hrmm..I don't know. Why?Because no one has pop-out the question to me (that's what my colleague taught me about answering 'when's your turn?').LOL! Well, it does make sense,though..

Ok..better think of finishing ACCA first, then marriage.LOL. Laters~~

p/s: I'm so stressed out. Exams..exams..exams...huwaaaaaaaaaaa ;-(

PMS

What is PMS?

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is the name of a group of symptoms that start 7 to 14 days before your period (menstruation). The symptoms usually stop soon after your period begins.

Most women feel some discomfort before their periods. But if you have PMS, you may feel so anxious, depressed or uncomfortable that you can't cope at home or at work. Some of the symptoms of PMS are listed in the box below. Your symptoms may be worse some months and better others.

Symptoms of PMS

  • Acne
  • Bloated abdomen
  • Constipation
  • Crying spells
  • Depression
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Feeling hungry
  • Feeling irritable or tense
  • Feeling tired
  • Feeling anxious
  • Headache
  • Joint pain
  • Mood swings
  • Not feeling as interested in sex
  • Tender and swollen breasts
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Swollen hands or feet
  • Wanting to be alone
  • Weight gain

What causes PMS?

No one knows for sure. But PMS seems to be linked in part to changes in hormone levels during the menstrual cycle. PMS is not caused by stress or psychological problems, though these may make the symptoms of PMS worse.

How is PMS diagnosed?

Your doctor may ask you to keep track of your symptoms on a calendar. If your symptoms follow the same pattern each month, you may have PMS.

Your doctor may want to examine you and do some tests to rule out other problems. He or she may also want to talk to you about your eating and exercise habits, your work and your family.

How is PMS treated?

There is no cure for PMS, but eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and taking medicine may help. Your doctor will talk to you about whether you need to change your diet and exercise habits. He or she may also prescribe medicine for you, depending on what your symptoms are.

You may need to try more than one medicine to find the treatment that works for you. Many medicines are available over-the-counter, but some require a doctor's prescription. Medicines that can be prescribed include diuretics, antidepressants and birth control pills. Other medicines for PMS are being studied.

What are diuretics?

Diuretics help your body get rid of extra sodium and fluid. They can ease bloating, weight gain, breast pain and abdominal pain. Diuretics are usually taken just before you would normally have these symptoms.

Do antidepressants help?

Antidepressants can help with the severe irritability, depression and anxiety that some women with PMS have. These medicines are usually taken every day.

What about birth control pills?

Your doctor may talk to you about taking birth control pills (sometimes called "the pill") to help ease some of your PMS symptoms. Birth control pills help by "evening out" your hormone levels throughout your cycle. Some women's PMS symptoms get a lot better when they take birth control pills. However, the pill can also cause side effects of its own, and it doesn't help all women.

What about medicines I can buy without a prescription?

You can buy medicines without a prescription to help with the symptoms of PMS. These medicines usually combine aspirin or acetaminophen with caffeine, antihistamines or diuretics. Some brand names include Midol, Pamprin and Premsyn PMS.

Some over-the-counter pain relievers can also help. These include ibuprofen (brand names: Advil, Motrin, Nuprin), ketoprofen (brand name: Orudis KT) and naproxen (brand name: Aleve).

These medicines can work quite well for mild or moderate PMS. Talk to your doctor before you try one of these drugs.

Can I do anything to ease my symptoms?

Yes. See the box below for some tips. Know what your PMS symtoms are and when they happen. Then you can change your diet, exercise and schedule to get through each month as smoothly as possible.

Try not to get discouraged if it takes some time to find tips or medicine that help you. Treatment varies from one person to another. Your doctor can help you find the right treatment.

Tips on controlling PMS

  • Eat complex carbohydrates (such as whole grain breads, pasta and cereals), fiber and protein. Cut back on sugar and fat.
  • Avoid salt for the last few days before your period to reduce bloating and fluid retention.
  • Cut back on caffeine to feel less tense and irritable and to ease breast soreness.
  • Cut out alcohol. Drinking it before your period can make you feel more depressed.
  • Try eating up to 6 small meals a day instead of 3 larger ones.
  • Get aerobic exercise. Work up to 30 minutes, 4 to 6 times a week.
  • Get plenty of sleep--about 8 hours a night.
  • Keep to a regular schedule of meals, bedtime and exercise.
  • Try to schedule stressful events for the week after your period.

What about vitamins and other home remedies?

You may have read that some vitamins and other supplements, such as vitamin B6, vitamin E, magnesium, manganese and tryptophan, can help relieve PMS. There haven't been many studies about these treatments, and it's possible that they could do more harm than good. For example, vitamin B6 and vitamin E can cause side effects if you take too much. Talk to your doctor if you're thinking of trying any of these vitamins or supplements.

On the other hand, taking calcium pills may reduce symptoms of water retention, cramps and back pain. Taking about 1,000 mg of calcium a day probably won't be harmful, especially because calcium has so many other benefits, such as being good for your bones.

What a LaZy dAY!

I just don't know why I'm so lazy today..

Could the 'hot cold' weather cause the 'laziness' in me?

Or could it be something has been bothering in my mind? the ACCA exam really bothers me a lot!

Or could I be missing someone? Well, I did thought of him a lot today :)

Or could it be just me?Plain lazy of me..can't wait to this Friday as I'll be leaving for study leave soon..

Hot..CoLd..hOt..cOLd..I'm ConfUsE??

Dublin is well-known of unpredictable weather. If you go to the souvenir shop, you can find a shirt with a picture of a lamb holding an umbrella at all 4 seasons. Why? Because it rains in every season.I remember when we(me and my mum)got that shirt for my bro.huhu..it cute though..

It's spring now.It suppose to be warm or warmer (entering summer soon). it shouldn't be as cold as autumn as it had been drizzling everyday. Worse,I have kept all my winter/autumn clothings in my 'storage bag' & my spring/summer clothings are ready to be worn. I guess I still have to wear 2-3 piece when I'm out to work/socializing. This is not good. Because spring/summer should be simply mean 'wear 1 piece of clothes',not wearing thick jackets/jumpers to work.

According to meteorologist, warm weather is expected in 2-3weeks time.Well, they better be because it's very annoying when I felt so cold in the morning, & hot when I going home from home.

So..What am I going to wear to work tomorrow?Hrmm...(thinking..thinking..) =p.

Leo for the day~

"Your heart may be bent out of shape as obligations push you one way while your need for freedom draws you another. Unfortunately a simple solution might not be forthcoming. Don't worry, though, this isn't a long-term influence unless you stir something up that's better left alone. You might just have to grin and bear it for a day or so, until the tensions settle back to normal."

Can't get off my mind~

what's on my mind?

exams,work,relationship,future..I'm guessing everyone is going through that. When you think too much -->stress! Well, I can just forget all about it and move forward..be cheerful..the thing is, it'll come back to you automatically..which is normal, right?

That just simply shown I'm a grown up person. I'm not trying to brag myself as I'm good or bad person. It's normal to go through that stage..the 'adult stage'.god,i felt so old when saying that. LOL.

I guess I'm a bit insecure about myself. Afraid to grow up. Since I'm always relying on someone I loved most (my parents) to do all the work and now I'm here in Dublin living on my own with my own money. It's weird at first, but erm..eventually I get used to it.(Bravo to me for being independent in Dublin! :D).

I've studied for my final year here, doing BA(Hons) in Accounting & Finance (future accountant),funded by my parents. Well,I'm not rich, just that my dad wants me to have good education and giving me chance studying here since my sister was in Dublin as well. After finish studying, I told my dad 'Papa,no need to send money anymore.I'm capable to support myself for now'. That moment I felt 'yeay,I'm earning my own money after all!'

After nearly 2 years of working here, i felt that I have so many responsible in hands. It shows I'm no kid no more.I'm entering an adult stage, which involve so many things in life.Buying car & house, engagement/marriage,family,working(in higher position/pursue diff career),investment,etc..etc..But that doesn't stop me from having fun! =p

I guess I should stop thinking too much(that's what my friends mostly think of me),focus on my studies (exams on 4 & 8 June 2007),figure out how I would like my future gonna be since mostly have been telling me (stop fooling around & think ahead further!).Hrmm, I guess I should think of my exams as PRIORITY rather than thinking about 'my future'.huhu~

Will update when I got things done here.Sayonara everyone! :)

THe Upside of Anger

Sharp-witted Terry Wolfmeyer, a suburban wife and mother, has her life take an unusual turn when her husband unexpectedly disappears. Struggling to deal with his sudden absence, Terry finds herself increasingly at odds with her four headstrong daughters and regularly drowning her anger in alcohol, until she develops an offbeat relationship with her next-door neighbor, Denny. A once-great baseball star turned radio DJ, Denny becomes a drinking buddy for Terry and slowly evolves into her source of strength, as well as an ad-hoc father to her daughters. But things get complicated as Terry’s daughters grow accustomed to having Denny around while attempting to juggle not only their mother’s romantic dilemmas, but their own.

To be honest, I don't even have a clue that it's an old movie. Well, not too old..I checked the website, this film was release in 2005. I'm not sure why the film was shown after 2 decades. I mean, what took them so long to show it here? I find it a very emotional movie (yeah, I would say it's a women thingy). Still, it would be nice if guys watch that movie.hehe..

After watching that movie, lesson for the day..no matter how good or bad your mother treats you, she's still your mother and I will assure you that without her, no one will able to point you out what's the best for yourself. Also, I just remembered that tomorrow is mother's day!

"Your emotions are being stretched like a painter's canvas now, and it makes you feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there are no quick and easy answers to the complex situation that has developed, but rest assured that things are about to change. Next & Alpha Dog

Next is about Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which is a gift and a curse which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

Alpha Dog is a story based on the life of Jesse James Hollywood, the youngest man to ever be on the F.B.I.'s most wanted list.Johnny is a Los Angeles drug dealer. He comes from a good family, owns his home, several cars and enjoys partying with his friends. Johnny is 19. When his friend Jake welches on a debt, Johnny and his boys kidnap Jake's 15-year-old brother Butch and hold him as a marker. Even though Butch has numerous chances to escape, he doesn't. He's enjoying partying with them, losing his virginity and having a good time - until something goes horribly wrong.

Both movies are brilliant.Seen it last weekend.I could judge which one is better, I could say both have good storyline. You have to watch that movie. :)

Next review would be..SPIDERMAN 3!!Damn, that show will be release by tomorrow in Malaysia whereas in Ireland, the movie will be release on Friday, 4 May 2007.Oh well, I just have to focus my exams more than spiderman 3 showing tomorrow.

To my friends & sis in malaysia..Enjoy watching it tomorrow :)

(dont think my bro will be watching spidey 3 tomorrow..ahaha..sila focus on upcoming exams :p)

ok,back to work..cau cin cau~~

Leo oF thE DaY~~

You could become quite upset today if someone ruins your fun, but keep in mind that they are not really trying to make your life difficult. Rather, it's that others aren't willing to blindly assist you along your road to emotional satisfaction. In other words, you might not get your way. If, however, you are cooperative, you greatly increase your chances for fulfillment and enjoyment.
